Rumination mediates the relationship between personality organization and symptoms of borderline personality disorder and depression

This article presents two studies examining cross-sectional mediational models between self-report assessments of personality organization, rumination, borderline disorder symptoms and depressive symptoms. The relationship rumination (BPD) depression has been demonstrated by numerous empirical studies. In our research we used Kernberg's theoretical frame organization (PO) where normal pathological features are not distinct entities but make a spectrum increasing severity. the current study hypothesized that PO as well is mediated on non-clinical samples. According to results less structured appears be associated with more symptoms, higher proneness level borderline-depressive rumination. These provide important insights regarding concomitants their treatment.
